Charlotte or Greensboro are the 2 closest Int. Airports. There are 2 regional, one in Ashville NC and ther in Johnson City TN. Bumps in the road are becoming extinct and we are strivinging to remain a bump in the road. Newland is the County Seat of Avery County with a population of 700. We are proud of the fact that the county permanent residence is around 17,000. There are still places you can go and not see lights, hear automobiles. The air is clear, the waters clean, no traffic jams, we talk slow, drive slow and ain`t in no big hurry to go nowhere. My kinda place, Oh, we do have 2 traffic lights, Peace, Cotton.
