I agre brother. When we went down to the ashau,they told us the gooks learned to holler hey medic in the dark and were killing off our medics.So to be sure it was one of ours before going out for anyone.We went down with 28 medics in the battalion and only three came back either not wounded or dead.Many of course healed and returned to duty soon.Just look at the photo with me and doc moon with his arm in a sling.I was lucky enough to be one of the three, even tho I dug a piece of schrapnet out of my left lower leg.I just never told anyone and treatewd it myself.I believed I didn`t want no purple heart back then.Bewcause it always meant something bad had happened . doc
