John Kampschroeder. John was in Alpha for a while and in the HHC Security platoon at Sally for a while. I think he was out of the field before your entrance.

Gary Joyner and Lynne "Swede" Jacobson. Guarding the bridge during stand down at Colco Beach - east of Hue. Swede is the one writing a letter, sitting on the bunker. Joyner "Joynt" had a rear job by the time we got to Tam Ky. He is the 3rd platoon member I looked up when I played a concert in Chicago, and he has the other website for Alpha Company.

John Kampschroeder again...

Ralph Vitch: At Colco  beach stand down with puppy called "Claymore."

I don't know this guy, but the company sign behind him shows that Val Zapert was the CO at the time the picture was taken.

Aerial photo of LZ Sally taken from the north side as chopper flew toward Hue to the south.

Old Timers. Vinh Loc was a very successfull battle for our side. It was an island or peninsula SE os Hue. The entire battalion was involved in the cordon and caprtue of many VC and NVA advisors. It took place before I was in the company, and I hooked up in Nov of '69.

Van Long. He was the main chief scout for Alpha Company for several years. Unbeknownst to us, he was working also for the NVA, as they held some of his family under threats of death.

This guy's name was Walt. He was about the hardest working Alpha troop I knew. A bit older that the rest of us, he wanted to be a LRRP and  did finally work his way into that kind of outfit.
